Johnny, one year today you left us to be with our Lord. It's been a year of sadness and emptiness without you. I keep expecting your call, your hike up my steps but you are not here - never again! Thanksgiving and birthdays were not the same without you. We miss your laughter and your joy. I just came back from Cameroon where Mum, Linda Danilo and I prayed, laughed and cried over you. I met several of your friends from your Baptist Academy days in Cameroon who love and miss you. Irene, Sis Diki, Enanga, Dackie, Fathia, Evita, Assi, Auntie Ndeli, Ada and the rest of the family in Cameroon miss you.
Today, Mum visited sickle cell children and their families in Limbe and Mutengene, bringing them gifts, water and encouragement on your behalf. Last week, Ma Eposi - your "Mbamba" visited the third floor unit at Adventist Hospital with cookies and flowers. She also visited Dr. Annand's Clinic and met many of your pals with Pizza and water at the day clinic -- they have fond memories of you. Tata spruced up Grandma's grave - your ashes are buried with her - what a fitting place, don't you think? Johnny, you are with grandma, grandpa, Sabi, your Pa Joe, Manga, little Rosemary. Johnny, I miss you desperately and very much look forward to reuniting with you and everyone in heaven.
Much love, Anike - for the family. Mwah!

On Saturday June 12th, family and friends of our beloved John Williams Fomenky will gather at the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Victoria, Cameroon at 3 pm to thank God for his life through praise and worship. EBC was where John attended pre-school, children service, participated in the youth group, sang in the choir and maintained his membership for many years after leaving Cameroon.
Following the service, there will be a reception at the EBC conference hall. John's remains will be buried earlier that day next to his beloved grandma Hedwig Williams nee Luma at a private ceremony at the New Town Cemetery.
We are heartened by the outpouring of love and support from his childhood friends in Victoria, Kumba and many parts of Cameroon; from elderly relatives in Limbola, Batoke, Bimbia, Bova and Great Soppo who remember John's youth, his joys and struggles. Our hearts still aches as there is a gaping hole in our lives without John, but he remains in our hearts and we trust that God knows best.
Anike H. Nokuri
